Yesterday “Hats in Art * Art in Hats” opened.

This very original concept is an idea from the wonderful Quan Lavender, and was set up with the help of Ann Lykin. I was so lucky to be teamed up with Cutea Benelli from Grim Bros her hats. I always loved Cutea’s crazy steampunk designs.

About the exhibition by Quan Lavender:

WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Art and fashion meet in hats. Good hats are art to wear and subsequently many artists love to create fantastic hats. Fashion designers often show an explosion of creativity in hats. Hats turn to fashion with the styling.

The basic idea of the exhibition is to present hats built by artists and fashion designers together with photos. In the photos is shown a small story around the hat.

WHO IS ATTENDING?

Artists, fashion designers, builders has been invited to submit their hat creations. Fashion- and art-photographers submitted their scenery taken with a hat. Some works are created and taken by the same person or they cooperated as designer/photographer-team.

VISITORS CONTEST

The visitors will receive a basic Cloche-Hat full perm as gift which they can decorate and take a photo of or with it. They may pass the texture to Quan Lavender and will take part of the visitors contest. The images are dispayed in the exhibtion and every visitor is requsted to vote. The winners (places 1 to 3) will be nominated by 50% public voting and 50% judging panel.

Places 1 to 3 will receive a huge choice of the event hats.

I’m under a Down Under person so the idea of wearing a bikini in June – which after all is my winter – does sound a little odd but in Second Life my seasons are topsy turvy. And so I can wear what I please!
